Certificate in Systemic Practice - Intermediate Level
The Colibri Center for Systemic Training is proud to introduce our Intermediate level Certificate in Systemic Practice comprehensive and dynamic training designed for professionals interested in systemic and relational approaches to therapy and self of the therapist development. This course follows the Foundational level certificate in progression. It is encouraged for prospective students to take the Colibri Center version of the Foundational level as students will continue to be immersed in the Person of the Therapist (POTT) framework though we accept anyone willing to be trained.
This course equips participants with further clinical systemic skills and builds on the Use of Self as a powerful tool for systemic therapists.
Course Overview

In this 9-month (October 2025 – June 2026) program, participants will explore core principles of systemic practice through engaging, interactive and experiential learning experiences, hands-on practice, and peer collaboration. This course is particularly suited for individuals in the fields of counseling, social work, education, healthcare, and other helping professions who seek to deepen their understanding of relational dynamics and systemic approaches to change. Students will receive over 80 hours of direct instruction via online synchronous online meetings and have over 120 hours of self study time. The assessment will be in the form of interaction dialogue via journal entries and three essays. This class is modeled after the Association for Family Therapy (AFT) Blue book standards. This course has not yet be accredited by AFT.
Person of the Therapist (POTT) Framework
Unique Offering
A distinguishing feature of this course is its emphasis on the Person of the Therapist (POTT) model—a reflective and relationally oriented approach that centers the therapist’s self-awareness and personal context as essential elements of effective therapeutic practice. Through POTT, participants gain insight into how their own identities, values, and histories shape their approach to therapy, enhancing their capacity for genuine and empathetic client relationships. This framework offers powerful tools for the therapists to connect with the client systems and create culturally attuned experiences in the therapy room. No other training program offered has this framework as the foundation in their certificates.
