Meet Our Clinical Director

Dr. Anthony Pennant, LMFT, CST

Dr. Pennant is an international speaker and expert in neurodiversity, LGBT+ relationships, and attachment and foster care, with a dedicated focus on research in systemic intervention. With a doctorate in Couple and Family Therapy from Antioch New England, Dr. Pennant has made significant contributions to the field, serving as a master trainer for supervisors through the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) and has published numerous scholarly works.

Based in Seattle, WA, Dr. Pennant operates a private practice where they provide therapeutic support and training, helping individuals and families navigate complex relational dynamics. Passionate about advocacy and education, Dr. Pennant engages audiences worldwide, sharing insights that promote understanding and inclusivity within diverse communities.

Dr. Cayla Minaiy, LMFT

Lead Trainer for Systemic Certificates

Dr. Cayla Minaiy is a licensed therapist specializing in addiction recovery, anxiety, and grief among first generation and immigrant populations. With over 10 years of experience in the field she brings a unique blend of academic rigor and compassionate clinical expertise to her practice.

Dr. Minaiy’s journey in the mental health field began in community agency and continued on in her role as faculty and associate chair of a COAMFTE Couple and Family Therapy program in the Pacific Northwest. During her tenure in academia, she mentored and trained numerous aspiring therapists, fostering a deep commitment to the growth and development of future clinicians. This experience also instilled in her a passion for clinical supervision, which she continues to integrate into her current practice.

Central to Dr. Minaiy’'s therapeutic approach is her dedication to ongoing professional development, particularly through Person of the Therapist (POTT) training. This framework emphasizes self-awareness, introspection, and the therapist’s personal impact on the therapeutic process. In addition, Dr. Minaiy is committed to practicing with a lens of social and cultural humility. She recognizes the importance of cultural awareness in therapy and continually strives to deepen her understanding of diverse cultural backgrounds and identities.

Dr Minaiy believes the role of supervision is to foster the identity of the therapist and if therapists are supported, they will in turn thrive in their clinical work.
