About the event
Course Description
Course 3 is the capstone of the Systems Under Strain series. It extends the biopsychosocial spiritual model into an eco-systemic assessment that treats environment, community, and political context as clinical variables, and pushes Person of the Therapist work into the clinician's own eco anxiety, vicarious trauma, and moral distress.
Clinical content covers environmental illness and climate stress (air pollution, wildfire, and climate related anxiety) and disaster and conflict (displacement, refugee family systems, intimate partner violence following disaster, and conflict related sexual violence). Participants close the series by building a personal biopsychosocial spiritual sexual assessment protocol they can use across all five illness domains covered in the full series.
Course 1 and Course 2 are recommended before taking this course, since it assumes fluency with the biopsychosocial spiritual model and Person of the Therapist work built in the first two sessions.
