Course Description
For decades, couples therapy has treated the relationships of Black, Queer, Indigenous, and other Global Majority clients as variations to be accommodated within models that were never built for them. MRT rejects that premise. Multidynamic Relational Therapy (MRT) is not another adaptation that treats marginalized couples as edge cases. It is a systemically grounded, liberation focused model built from the ground up on Black, Queer, Indigenous, Asian, and other Global Majority relational epistemologies, drawing on Ubuntu, liberation psychology, the Indigenous Wholistic Framework, the Harlem Renaissance, and Ballroom culture. Its contributions stand precisely where the widely used models remain incomplete for the clients most therapists serve.
